The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and driving Three’s Sales Strategy in line with Company objectives. End to end definition, development, rollout & management to drive the generation of volumes, revenue and margin for Three across the Retail and Indirect channels. Responsible for providing input into Digital sales strategy and performance. This role is a senior leadership position and reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.

Leading a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, the role leads a sales organisation which provides best in class service to our Customers, with direct end-to-end accountability for our Retail and Indirect channels.

The role requires exceptional commercial and business awareness, the vision to develop strategic insights and opportunities, anticipating the potential impacts of key decisions and shaping the outcomes.

A proven track record of leading business development and partnerships that have delivered substantial revenues. As well as a deep and broad understanding across the following – Sales, Service & Customer Experience, P&L Management and Employee Engagement. Exceptional interpersonal, networking and communication skills are essential.

• Define and implement the consumer sales strategy across the Retail and Indirect channels.
• Drive sales strategy from analysis of operational statistics such as KPIs & SLAs.
• Lead the sales organisation, providing direction, focus and motivation on the strategy and key business deliverables across all sales channels.
• Define sales targets by channel and segment, using insight and data to make informed decisions, in line with delivering budget.
• Implement monthly and weekly sales targets and performance reviews to drive improved sales performance.
• Budget Management responsibility, including delivering customer budget and ownership of relevant budget lines, reforecasting budgets with Finance partners throughout the year.
Input to strategic recommendations that lead the sales organisation to outperform sales budget, CAC (Customer Acquisition) and ARPU (Average Revenue per User) targets.
• Continuously monitor sales performance and identify opportunities for improvement in collaboration with peers. Ensure effective team collaborations to align and enhance customer sales.
• End to end ownership of the Retail and Indirect channels ensuring effective performance analysis, reporting, and planning to drive sales.
• Review market trends, market pricing, competitive position, and key developments & threats for Three, and provide recommendation to the sales organisation and commercial management team.
• Manage the retail channel to be best in class with exceptional operational standards and ensuring optimum customer experience.
• Own all internal communications to the channels ensuring the right quality and quantity to enable success across the channel.
• Drive cross functional collaboration with functions such as new products and propositions,
consumer, marketing, and business to ensure all activities will support all sales channels meeting their KPIs.
• Ensure commercial agreements are in in place and are reviewed, maintained and managed.
Build, develop and maintain effective, co-operative relationships of a strategic nature with people who are instrumental in achieving sales objectives.
• Work as key part of the Commercial leadership team in developing a seamless and integrated sales and marketing approach.
• This role will work closely and collaborate with its counterpart in Ireland to maximise synergies.

• Extensive experience in a similar senior leadership and managerial role, setting vision and getting buy-in from all levels of the organisation.
• Experience leading a Consumer Sales or Retail business with a proven track record of achievement.
• Appreciation of the customer, their needs and how to meet them creatively.
Proven leadership and team working skills with the ability to develop and motivate a high-performance culture.
• Ability and passion to drive operational excellence, leading transformation to
bring best in class sales operations.
• Strong commercial acumen with a clear understanding of profitability and the management of P&L, OPEX and strategic targets. Commercially astute and able to lead customer experience driven operations.
• Confident in their ability to engage people from all over the business and at all levels to drive change.
• Strategic awareness, ability to influence and input and to shape both the medium and longer-term strategy of the business. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to convert strategy into operational execution.
• Excellent quantitative/business modelling, use of strategic frameworks, rigorous planner, and comfortable with strategic analyses.
• An experienced People Leader able to galvanise others behind a vision, set clear direction and build a high performing team.
• Excellent decision making and prioritisation.
• Proven experience of running a multi-site Retail operation in a fast-moving industry.
