The newly developed CIO team consists of Rebus (IT & Digital Transformation), Analysis, Design & Architecture, Development, Testing, Technical Delivery, Digital Development and IT Change; together we are One IT. 


The CIO Organisation is responsible for defining, designing, and implementing best in class Digital and ICT Strategy to the Three business in the UK.

CIO sets the strategic direction for Three’s Digital and ICT functions to drive innovation and enable the multi-channel strategy, in line with the overall strategic direction of the organisation. Responsible for providing external strategic insight and articulating what a world class IT function should look like. 

The CIO organisation will work collaboratively between the internal business departments and delivery teams to gather business requirements, formulate solutions, and ensure that commercial goals are met, managing relationships with key stakeholders within Three and across the CKH Group, owning and developing quality relationships with strategic Partners.

• The on-going development and management of the IT Test Management function.
• Effective and efficient use of IT testing environments, ensuring they meet the requirements of the projects, programmes and delivery stakeholder community enabling robust end to end testing.
• Cost management of test environments.
• Managing partner teams to ensure environments are of quality and readily available on time for use.
• Driving the appropriate test strategy and planning across Three and Partner teams to ensure deliveries are to standard.
• Work with key technology and business stakeholders ensuring cross functional engagement is in place for all deliveries.
• Drive partners capability maturity, ensuring industry trends and metrics are applied and achieved.
• Building a culture of continuous improvement, bringing new innovation to the way we operate and increase automation of processes.
• Definition and performance management of key test metrics (KPIs) across delivery teams.

• Responsible for leading and coaching the Test function and management of day to day activities.
• You will be accountable for ensuring the following our defined and maintained:
o End to end test strategies for key programmes and projects and appropriate test coverage is in place
o Partner test plans
o Risk Based Testing strategies
o Ensure appropriate test maturity models and improvement plans are in place
o Testing delivery governance
o Test Tooling and processes

• You will work collaboratively with other technology team members and functions to support cross-functional testing processes.
• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, you will proactively look for opportunities to address known critical business or operational issues in relation to the testing services provided.
• Ensure delivery risk is understood and accepted by key stakeholders and teams prior to delivery to production.
• Drive partners capability maturity, ensuring industry trends and metrics are applied and achieved.
• Building a culture of continuous improvement, bringing new innovation to the way we operate and increase automation of processes.
• Definition and performance management of key test metrics (KPIs) across delivery teams.

• Previous experience as a Head of Software Testing or similar role i.e. Head of QA.
• Experience of working in complex multi system, multi partner delivery organisation, preferably within the telecoms industry or a systems integrator in this space.
• Knowledge and experience of working across the development lifecycles and with system architecture, business models, operating models.
• Exceptional knowledge and experience of all aspects of testing, from strategy, plan to detailed execution across all test phases, including but not limited to data, migration, unit testing, integration testing, functional and non-functional, user and operational acceptance.
• Experience with both manual and automated testing, with demonstrable evidence of delivering delivery efficiency and quality improvements through the adoption of technology and automation.
• Proven history of implementing automation frameworks and automation test strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to work across global teams.
• Experience of working with difference infrastructure technologies and methodologies for example, but not limited to Waterfall, Iterative, Scrum, DevSecOps, Microsoft Azure, AWS, etc.
• Excellent people management and mentoring skills.
• Industry certification / accreditation in Test Management.
