This position will report into a senior designer and contribute to the creation, development and execution of brand identities, campaign materials, guidelines, documents and design objects — physical, printed or digital.

Success will be an extension of the IHA’s remit over time, taking on higher profile briefs as we prove our capability to the business. There is clear scope for our junior designers to grow as we grow, taking on more responsibilities as they build their experience and hone their craft.

Deliver high quality work. Perform a range of tasks, including helping build guidelines, designing logos, supporting the team in the execution of marketing communications materials for all channels and formats, and in the development of branded documents, packaging and physical design objects. You will understand and be able to execute against pre-existing style guides as you illustrate, visualise and comp developing ideas. You will be exposed to a mix of briefs, but with the potential to be committed to specific projects and brands.


Collaborate with colleagues. You will be guided, mentored and directed by others in the design team. You will take direction well, but also be passionate about pushing boundaries in the work and be prepared to voice an opinion. It is important to be a good communicator who can express their needs clearly.


Be constantly curious. Take proactive steps to be aware of art, design and cultural trends and how they translate to design. Have a thirst for developing your ability to create and shape how brands look, feel and function, both within and beyond communications. Continually find ways to develop your eye for composition, typography and layout.


Help the In-House Agency run efficiently and effectively Support agreed ways of working, taking direction as appropriate, to work efficiently and effectively. Make good use of systems, tools and processes designed to help you achieve this. Demonstrate respect for all functions of the IHA and show due regard for timelines, budgets and other constraints inherent in the brief.

· Professional work experience showing good design sensibilities and the ability to follow established brand styles; to solve visual problems; to follow instructions and take direction from others.
· Has, or is developing, experience ranging from branding to comms, both print and digital.
· Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
· A good understanding and some experience in motion, coding and photography are desirable.
· Has some familiarity with asset management best practices and systems.
· Aptitude for picking up new software and rapid software technique adoption
· Degree in Graphic Design preferred but not essential
· Experience in Powerpoint and Keynote presentation software and the ability to build templates is a bonus.
