We are building something special at Three: an in-house agency that is going to re-energise the brand and take our marketing effort to new heights.

This is an opportunity for the right candidate to be part of the team which does that, while developing their skills and learning from our experienced and supportive senior team.

This role will form part of a wider creative team, reporting to the Operations Lead. And contribute to the creation, development and execution of brand identities, campaign materials, guidelines, documents and design objects — physical, printed or digital, with a focus on the company’s new proposition – 3Vision.

Success will be an extension of the IHA’s remit over time, taking on higher profile briefs as we prove our capability to the business. There is clear scope for our junior designers to grow as we grow, taking on more responsibilities as they build their experience and hone their craft.

Create the conditions for the success of the in-house agency. Deliver against our creative ambitions for the brand working to the In-House Agency’s plan for how this will be achieved and by using your expert design knowledge and experience, ability and personality. To achieve this, be pro-active at all times: bring energy, share ideas and help make this a team which talented people want to be a part of.

Demonstrate design leadership within the teams. You will be guided, mentored and directed by a Senior Designer within the IHA creative team. However, you will spend much of your time working autonomously with colleagues in project-specific teams. You will be the voice of design in your team: using your expertise and experience to lead, educate and challenge your colleagues to ensure the brand is faithfully represented throughout. It is therefore important to be a good communicator who can express their needs and ideas clearly.

Be constantly curious. Take proactive steps to be aware of art, design and cultural trends and how they translate to design. Have a thirst for developing your ability to create and shape how brands look, feel and function, both within and beyond communications. Continually find ways to develop your eye for composition, typography and layout.

Champion design throughout the organisation, not just in the work but through leading and sharing design thinking. Demonstrate a creative curiosity, being constantly engaged with the latest art, design and cultural trends. Defend and protect design and the design process, always looking for ways to improve both the output and our ways of working.

Collaborate with the IHA team, its internal customers and external partners. Build strong relationships with the rest of the IHA team, as well as with external agency partners, showing respect for the contribution of each discipline and each individual. Develop positive relationships with marketing and other roles that brief the IHA, helping them to help the IHA generate quality work. Communicate well, work together productively and serve as an example for younger designers to follow

Help both the In-House Agency run efficiently and effectively. Support agreed ways of working, taking direction as appropriate, to work efficiently and effectively. Make good use of systems, tools and processes designed to help you achieve this. Demonstrate respect for all individuals with whom you are collaborating and show due regard for timelines, budgets and other constraints inherent in the brief.

  • Extensive agency experience with expertise in to following established brand styles; to solve visual problems; to follow instructions and take direction from others.
  • A proven track record & outstanding visual portfolio, showing you can craft distinctive designs for at least an AA standard in print and digital outputs.
  • A good understanding and some experience in motion, coding and photography are desirable.
  • Has a solid understanding of asset management best practices and systems.
  • Proficiency in all Adobe Creative Suite essential: INDESIGN, PHOTOSHOP, ILLUSTRATOR; 3D and moving image skills a bonus.
  • Aptitude for picking up new software and rapid software technique adoption.
  • Experience in Powerpoint and Keynote presentation software with the ability to build templates.
