Sitting within the People Services, Policy & Employee Relations leadership team, this role leads the provision of professional, commercial and business-focused employment legal advice and proactive partnering with the business to deliver people impacting Company objectives. Responsible for the provision of subject matter expert advice and coaching to managers and leaders across the business (up to and including executive leadership team) on all employee relations matters to the business to support the achievement of business outcomes taking into consideration customer experience. Ensures the strategic development of the ER team and proposition through the application of best practice methodology to drive service evolution.
The ER Leads define the design of the Companies ER model, frameworks and processes (including continuous improvement), influence the strategic direction and are accountable for the effective delivery of consultation for business change projects, ensure the effective conclusion of case management through risk management and the delivery of ER related People projects and initiatives.
A key element of the role is the people management and professional development of the Employee Relations team of ER Specialists and ER Advisors to ensure effective delivery of a comprehensive, effective and commercial ER service to the business.
Please note this is 12 month FTC/Secondment.
• Lead, coach and develop designated Employee Relations team to deliver technical, comprehensive, business focused, timely ER expertise
• Ensure fairness, consistency and legal compliance in the application of ER policy and process in scope of the service
• Actively work collaboratively with stakeholders to fully understand their commercial needs and identify ER solutions
• Provide expert ER advice to business leaders, managers, employees and PBPs on highly complex ER issues, highlighting any commercial risks
• Drive strategic initiatives, including the service proposition and associated metrics
•CIPD qualified or part qualified
•Experience in leading a team of ER professionals in the successful delivery of a high quality and commercially focused ER service, ideally with examples of strategic development of the service
•Comprehensive ER experience across complex & high risk cases, business change & employment law
•Demonstrable experience of successfully defining, designing and executing ER projects/programmes
•Strong commercial thinker, practiced and comfortable in advising & influencing those around them and always curious to develop and evolve themselves, the service and their team
