• The Head of Digital Development reports to the Director of Development, Testing and Quality Assurance in CIO
• The Head of Digital Development is accountable for the development of:
o Three apps in the Apple and Google Play stores
o All digital systems, platforms and applications, their maintenance to current standards and quality including Amdocs, Adobe, bespoke ReactJS and associated digital code bases
o Back-end systems engineering, including development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and associated DevOps tooling
o Quality assurance and developmental guidance associated with Three’s intranet platform and pages
• This critical role requires ongoing and close collaboration with the Three Commercial Digital teams who will look to lead, in future, on front end digital development with aspirations to expand upon the Amdocs Harmony framework and have a view towards a more ‘microservices’ focussed interaction with back end systems
• Collaborate with partners to assure and ensure we have the capability to deliver our roadmap of development for the year, focussing on quality and outcomes
• Define the strategy for the future of Digital Development in collaboration with strategic partners, evolving capability and introducing new capability to support the needs of the business aligning with time, cost and quality. Working alongside the commercial Digital team and reviewing and implementing the new Digital organisational design
• Collaborate with the DTQA leadership team to ensure we have in place the capability, structure, skills and resources to drive quality in development in all the applications, systems and platforms within digital and the wider development organisation.
• Leading internal & external partner teams to ensure development quality and timely delivery, with a view to commercial need with innovation
• Evolve development capability in Digital towards DevOps practices, with automation of testing, automation of progression through environments and orchestration and automation of releases
• Assure effective working practices, development practices, and maintain strong and productive relationships with partners
• Establish mechanisms, SLA’s, OKR’s, KPI’s with suppliers that support continuous improvement in practice, efficiency and quality of outcomes
• Develop an effective network across the Three leadership team, building relationships based on trust, honesty and collaboration. Through these relationships assure and ensure cross functional engagement and collaboration to support development and delivery
• Leadership team escalation and engagement for active resolution of issues as needed Proactively manage partners capability maturity, evolving with technology and industry trends, applying appropriate measures for continuous improvement
• Build a culture of continuous improvement in the way we operate across development, including release and test automation, process automation and technical innovation
• Define and assure performance against a small number of critical development metrics (KPIs)

• Key Deliverables
o Implementation of a new Digital Operating Model, in collaboration with the Commercial Digital function
o Develop and evolve the presence and expand it’s capability, reliability and commercial and CX success
o Develop and evolve the Three app presence, expand and consolidate their capability, reliability and commercial and CX success
o Develop Three into a ‘Digital First’ business, focussing on integrated ‘omnichannel’ digital capability across sales and service with a CX first approach

o Must be able to demonstrate experience in a range of technology areas including:
o Networks and Network Operations, Development leadership in a range of disciplines, ideally including automation, integration, network systems, data and operations

o Must have development leadership in an Agile environment, implementing new technologies or technologies new to a business.
o Must have worked in development management and senior management roles, ideally in a major UK telco
o Demonstrable experience implementing DevOps engineering practices, developing and evolving Agile practices and working with collaborative internal/external teams
o It is anticipated that, to build these skills and experience, between 15 and 20 years experience in technology teams would be necessary
