Our people make us who we are. We’re a diverse and inclusive bunch, and it’s important you can feel you belong here. We value everybody for who they are and what they bring to the table, supporting one another as we continue to deliver for our customers.

Where possible we’re committed to flexible working and supporting our employees to have the right work life balance. Do however note, if you choose to apply for a different work location you will not have any eligibility for relocation support or travel allowances.

We are building something special at Three: an in-house agency that is going to re-energise the brand and take our marketing effort to new heights.

To help us achieve this, we need a strong print production manager, with exceptional skills in print management and purchasing, so that we deliver the highest standard print to support our ambitions for the brand.

At the same time, the print production manager will seek out improved print processes that deliver quality at lower prices and faster timelines, raising even higher the commercial value of the role within the business. An essential part of this will be to manage emerging Brexit risks for print management.

This role will work as part of the IHA production team, reporting to the creative production manager

The print manager will contribute to the extension of the IHA’s remit and reputation over time, enabling us to take on higher profile briefs as we prove our capability to the business. The right candidate will be up for the challenge and will continually improve our print management to deliver competitive advantage.

The role will be working on a hybrid basis with roughly 1 day a week at our HQ in Reading, 3 days at home, and one day at one of our other locations:

  • Oxford street flagship store
  • Islington Three Discovery office space
  • One of our print partners' offices/facilities.
  • Going to Three stores to review/test/plan print production for Retail Marketing
  • Support the success of the in-house agency. Deliver against our creative ambitions for the brand, working to the IHA’s plan for how this will be achieved and by using your expert print management and purchasing knowledge, skills and experience. To help achieve this, you’ll develop a value-based purchasing model that delivers innovation, the best possible service from suppliers, improved speed to market, higher quality and lower prices. More generally, you’ll be pro-active at all times: bring energy, share ideas and help make this a team that talented people want to be a part of.
  • Manage and procure so that that our print is consistently the best it can be. As an accomplished Print Production Manager, you will be confident in your ability to add a layer of quality, whist reducing costs and improving timelines. You will proactively introduce new methods, technologies and materials to the In-House Agency team, broadening the possibilities for what can be achieved in printing and print media. You’ll develop and evolve a strategy to minimise and mitigate Brexit and other risks in Three’s print supply chain across all territories. You’ll have an excellent eye for creative and graphic quality and the ability to follow existing and developing brand styles, combined with an ability to solve technical challenges. You will be adept at interpreting briefs and assessing materials and pre-press files to help ensure that you are able to deliver against requirements, technical specs and timings. You’ll have a working knowledge of InDesign CC, Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, and a strong understanding of materials and colour-management.
  • Develop the print partner portfolio. Working within the print budget, you’ll ensure that we have the best portfolio of supplier partners who go the extra mile to deliver great service and results, and of course comply with or exceed Three’s purchasing, sustainability, ecological and ethics policies. You’ll build strong collaborative relationships and gain the support of these partners in helping the IHA to achieve its ambitions. And you will know each supplier’s capacity and capability, including their ability to respond to challenging timelines.
  • Get the best value from the print budget. Purchasing direct mail, seasonal promotions, sales and retail collateral, and other printed media, you will produce informative job specifications and tenders that help suppliers deliver great value. You’ll apply your knowledge to get the best result whilst making economical use of materials and ink, and through using appropriate printing processes. You’ll use your extensive negotiation experience to measurably reduce costs whilst maintaining collaborative relationships with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the in-house agency team and its internal customers. You will be able maintain quality whilst helping the team to deliver to short deadlines and fast turn-round times. You will build strong collaborative relationships with the rest of the IHA team maintaining the focus on creative excellence and work that works well. You’ll also develop positive relationships with marketing and other roles that brief the IHA, helping them to help the IHA generate quality work.
  • Help the In-House Agency run efficiently and effectively Based on your clear understanding of all the brands in the stable and the creative ambition of the IHA, you will support agreed ways of working across the team so that each member of the team is able to work efficiently and effectively. You’ll ensure that work is filed effectively, uploaded to Asset Management Systems and your time is recorded in REBUS. You’ll make good use of internal systems, tools and processes which enable the team to excel. And you’ll demonstrate behaviours that encourage respect across all functions of the IHA and to show due regard for timelines, budgets and other constraints inherent in the brief.
