SMARTY is excitingly facing a period of major growth, with that comes the need to further demonstrate our ability to comply with the various forms of regulation that apply to our business.

The Process & Compliance Lead will play a significant role in that journey, primarily being responsible for leading a programme of work that supports SMARTY’s ability to comply with the OFCOM metering and billing regulation, a key milestone in our growth.

Working within the Operations team, the role will require you to work with all other functions across SMARTY, from Digital through to Trading, to understand the process and governance controls needed to meet our compliance obligations.

You will bring a deep understanding of the consumer protection regulations, experience of crafting clear process documents and the capability to identify and define control requirements.


  • Own and manage all the process and governance requirements for SMARTY in relation to its C3 Compliance obligations
  • Work across the SMARTY team to ensure all process and governance activities are understood, perform thorough gap analysis and agree business owners for all processes and controls.
  • Own and manage a roadmap of activities in support of our C3 compliance obligations
  • Report and track our progress to plan managing risks and issues in an effective and timely manner
  • Own the drafting of all documents, version management and sign off with stakeholders
  • Create and maintain a portfolio of process and governance documents.
  • Ensure these are robust, managed and adhere to best practice.
  • Define and implement a cadence to review and maintain all key processes across the SMARTY team setting out clear roles and accountabilities across process owners.
  • Support and manage all compliance documentation requirements with the Compliance team and the auditor

  • Broad experience in telecommunications regulation Experience with Ofcom General Conditions and consumer protection regulations specifically
  • Significant experience in capturing and documenting business processes and controls
  • Strong background in managing complex programmes of activity
  • Experience in preparing for and coordinating internal and external audits
