Leading a team of engineers and reporting to the Head of Test & Quality, this role will be the validation lead accountable for the Testing Lifecycle

Lead cross-functionally, with multiple Test, Design and Operations teams as well as our key delivery partners to ensure the delivery of an outstanding network experience

Accountable for the delivery of our test programmes this role will work across the test organisations and our partners to assure a quality software delivery
Your role encompasses the validation and integration activities of the “as is” and “future” network (redesign/add, change and/or increase the networks services and resources for capacity, features and functionality). As part of a team, you will work with functional stakeholders to ensure that the right responsibility levels are established - working to exercise influence without direct authority.
You will have a solid technical knowledge in principles and concepts of Service Control, Data, Voice and IMS, together with an understanding of messaging service including SMS, MMS and voicemail with good cross functional working skills to develop and support close working relationship with other domains and our Partners to drive and achieve the objectives set for the Network Test Team.

• Accountable for the validation of Designs prior to deployment into the Production environment using established test network processes using standalone test methods and performance test equipment

• Working with internal and external stakeholders you will be accountable for the coordinated production of test strategies, high quality test plans and resource allocation that drive our validation programs.

• Accountable for all the test artefacts needed to validate a program including test strategy, test plans, issue management and test reporting for the domain. You will be a test lead working with industry leading network equipment to execute tests and gather evidence for test failures, defects and test network faults. You will be the point of escalation to drive outcomes during E2E validations

Role Fundamentals – Essential criteria

• Demonstrable knowledge of the testing lifecycle – experience a real benefit
• Knowledge of wider mobile network domain
• Good analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Experience of working in a continuous improvement environment
• Experience of line managing multi-skilled teams (coaching, directing, recruitment, performance reviews, etc.)
• ISTQB foundation certification

• Will be able to understand and analyse the data and insights in their area to support management and leadership teams to make effective and informed decisions.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment enjoying the challenges and opportunities this brings Can demonstrate being able to effectively prioritise work based on time, cost, quality parameters

• Will have experience of working directly with partners on a regular basis

• Keen advocate of automation in testing – work with the automation team in the wider Test and Quality area to identify new opportunities and savings

Domain specific knowledge & experience – Desirable criteria

• TMMI knowledge and experience
• Core Network Knowledge and experience (packet core, voice core, service layer, charging, OSS)
• ISTQB advanced level
• ITILv4 foundation level
• Project Management certification – Prince2 Foundation or equivalent
• Experience of working with test management tools like HP ALM.
