Company Description

This role sits in the Financial Accounting team - a team of 23 responsible for some of the most complex accounting areas at Three, including Revenue accounting, Inventory accounting, Customer Acquisition and Retention cost (CARC) accounting, Financial Reporting, and Projects.

The main focus of the role is the accounting and reporting for our Premium Content revenue, an area which accounts for approximately £80m of the business’ annual revenue. This role will involve the preparation of the monthly statements for 13 external partners. It is imperative that accurate usage is reported to our external partners in their monthly statements to not only foster positive working relationships, but also to meet regulatory requirements and maintain the integrity of our margin.

As well as the partner statement preparation, this role will also taking ownership of the month end Premium Content process; this will involve both posting journals and updating P&L reconciliations to help explain the business’ performance in these areas. You will also assist in explaining any movements in revenue and margin in these areas to Commercial Finance.

 The role allows you to be involved in all elements of technical assessments, practical accounting, interaction with other CFO teams and involvement in the key company transformation project.

You will also be working on ad-hoc projects in the Revenue Accounting team and get involved in process and system improvements.

We are looking for a well-organized individual who is studying towards a professional qualification and has aspirations to take on more responsibility.


Job Description

The initial focus of the role will be to pick up the Premium Content revenue and partner statements, reporting & payment processing work. You will also be responsible for preparing and entering accurate month end journals for our Premium Content transactions and will need to understand the accounting and numbers generated by the billing system, Amdocs and Oracle.

Combined with this, you will be involved in other areas of the Revenue Accounting work, including month-end accounting and reconciliations. The latter will involve working closely with the CFO Business Partners and with the commercial trading teams. 

This role will require you to build strong working relationships internally with IT Support teams.  You will also help to answer queries from the Commercial Finance teams on underlying movements in our premium and content revenue and margin.

With your manager’s help, you will identify, define and implement improvements to reporting process and build strong working relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Studying for ACCA/CIMA and 18 months Finance experience.
  • Be delivery focused and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good organizational skills, especially during month-end closing.
  • Good communication skills - be able to work and collaborate with other teams around the business.
  • Be customer centered and build strong working relationships with stakeholders

Additional Information

  • Salary range for this role start's at £27,760 and exact salary will differ by job and experience

Excluding retail, core hours at Three are between 10:00 and 16:00, with operating hours between 08:00 & 18:30. This allows employees to have a start time between 08:00 and 10:00 and finish time between 16:00 and 18:30.
