Company Description

This role reports to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis and is responsible for the creation and delivery of long term financial plans as well as being the finance support for strategic business cases.  In addition to this, the Senior Finance Manager will act as direct support to the Head of FP&A on business wide initiatives and in supporting the delivery and articulation of month end performance a well as deputising for the Head Of in their absence on all business wide P&L performance matters.

This role will work cross functionally with finance and non-finance managers to build, challenge and explain the financial plan/performance, with the identification of risk and opportunities. Coaching, developing and influencing a wide degree of individuals and stakeholders at all levels is required to ensure a clear understanding of the performance drivers and issues relevant to all P&L areas and identify and support the implementation of corrective measures where appropriate.

Job Description

The role is responsible for providing effective commercial & financial support, along with challenge & direction across the business in order to ensure performance is optimised across the 5 year plan, weekly outlook and month end process.  Acting as a business consultant, this individual will support a wide variety of stakeholder and help to optimise operational processes to maximise progress towards financial goals. The role also manages the relevant financials, commercial and operational impacts for any strategic projects through the business casing and assessment of these opportunities. The role will also provide guidance & direction to other finance professionals in developing high performing finance talent.


Key Responsibilities
•    Takes responsibility for delivering a 5 year plan for the organisation and conducts complex analyses on Budget progress at a holistic level
•    Ensure the integrity and accuracy of month end results across the full P&L
•    Produce robust and actionable business cases for strategic projects, modelling all aspects of the P&L where appropriate.
•    Combine financial and operational insights to further the business’ understanding of company performance
•    Assist with the production of models to project long term growth and identify impacting business factors
•    Takes responsibility for delivering the weekly P&L outlook by working with finance and the wider business to collate inputs and critically assess business direction
•    Critically assess current processes and working practises and lead in creating efficiencies and driving improved insights and analysis
•    Lead the simplification and automation of processes to gain efficiencies across the FP&A and advise and support wider finance teams to this aim
•    Support and deputise on occasions the Head of in assessing P&L wide performance and ensuring business plans are in place to deliver on financial commitments
•    Own the collation and creation of all financial performance materials for both monthly and quarterly updates
•    Coach and mentor the Finance Managers and analysts in the FP&A team to assist the Head Of in developing talent
•    Takes the lead in the specific assessment of Capex, Depreciation, Interest, Tax and Cashflow


Qualifications

Education
University / Post Graduate (Degree)
CIMA, ACCA or ACA Qualified Accountant

Skills & Experience
•    Strong quantitative ability
•    Ability to solve complex problems
•    Ability to think wider than the role and more holistically about the business
•    Strong interpersonal skills and able to build relationships with a wide array of stakeholders
•    Strong rationalisation and influencing skills & strong organisation and prioritisation skills
•    Comfortable dealing with high levels of ambiguity
•    Experience of supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited timeframes

Salary range for this role start's at £53,760. Exact salary will differ by job and experience.

At Three we have a hybrid working arrangement in place as standard for office based employees, where employees work from a mix of office based location and working from their home in the UK to carry on their role.

Excluding retail, our core hours at Three are between 10:00 and 16:00, with operating hours between 08:00 & 18:30. This allows employees to have a start time between 08:00 and 10:00 and finish time between 16:00 and 18:30.
